In the 10 best young universities in Asia, South Korea has three representatives, but Singapore's Nanyang Technological University is first, according to THE.


On June 23, Times Higher Education (THE) magazine announced the list of the best young universities in the world in 2021. This ranking is exclusively for universities founded under 50 years old, evaluated based on 5 groups of criteria. Major criteria: Teaching (30% of total marks), research (30%), scientific citation (30%), international outlook (7.5%), income from knowledge transfer (2, 5%).

Topping the ranking is Singapore's Nanyang Technological University with 76 points, up one place from last year. Not only is it the best young school in Asia and the world, but it is also ranked 47th in the list of the best universities in the world.

Regularly competing for the top spot with Nanyang Technological University is the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. This year, this school ranked second with 74.9 points, 1.1 points lower than the first school. In addition to this representative, Hong Kong also has two other universities in the top 10 in Asia: City University of Hong Kong (ranked 4) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (ranked 7).


The same three schools in the top 10 in Asia are Korea. If counted in the top 10 in the world alone, this is the only country with three representatives, including Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), National Institute of Science and Technology. and Ulsan National Technology (UNIST).


The remaining representatives come from Macau, China and Saudi Arabia with scores ranging from 55.3 to 57.3.


In this ranking, Vietnam has two representatives, including Hanoi National University (ranked 251-300 in the world) and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (ranked 400+).
